the campaign group for rail north of Inverness - lobbying for improved services for the local user, tourist and freight operator

Well Done Frank!

The conception, delivery and launch of the Invernet services is the latest and most visible of Frank Roach's achievements for the Highland Rail Partnership (HRP). HRP grew out of the conference held in the early days of FoFNL and it has been the catalyst for many worthwhile improvements to rail services in the north of Scotland.

Invernet has been "the big one" and Frank must be delighted that it is now up and running. The long list of successes includes the Dingwall (later Tain and now Lairg) Commuter, Beauly station, all year Sunday trains from Wick and Kyle, "shoulder season" trains on the West Highland Lines and freight services such as the Safeway train and the Kinbrace timber train.

Invernet is now known as "Invernet 1" because Frank is already working on Invernet 2 to improve the services in both directions from Elgin. Well done Frank and keep up the good work!
