Dear Sir,

I write to compliment all concerned on the excellent service provided by the Pullman Dining Car Express from Thurso to Invergordon. The scenery was also excellent, being better than that which we had seen from our cruise liner en route to Scrabster and again after Invergordon. We Americans were particularly intrigued by the dinky Cotton grass at Forsinard and all the Yellow Leas south of Helmsdale.

May I share the menu with you for the benefit of those who have not yet sampled this train?

Best ScotntRails (alias Haggis) with poached Orkney egg
Or
Locomotive-smoked Thurso River salmon

Rack of Lairg lamb
Or
Kildonan venison with gold mustard sauce
Or
Poached Kinbrace of pheasant
All with Black Isle potatoes duchesse of Sutherland and crofters' selection of vegetables

Raspberry cranachan
Or
Brora ice cream

Tain cheese board

Orkney fudge

Quantities of Clynelish, Glenmorangie and Invergordon whiskies

CCG coffee.

I tell you it was better than the Venice-Simplon Orient Express! Then I woke up. I was pleasantly surprised to still be at Rogart! It seems I had boarded the train in the other platform. Those sleeperzzz sure give you a good night!

Have a nice day!
Yours untruly
