The Friends of the Far North Line
Cairdean Na Loine Tuath
the campaign group for rail north of Inverness - lobbying for improved services for the local user, tourist and freight operator

The committee noted the recent passing of two senior railwaymen, Mr John Gough, who was Area Manager at Invergordon in the 70s when the Smelter and M K Shand, plus the Distillery were at their peak, he worked tirelessly to secure traffic for the railway. Also Mr Bill Wood who likewise worked hard for the benefit of the North lines, even starting a commuter train from Invergordon to Inverness in the morning, sadly it was ahead of its time and due to lack of support was discontinued. The committee wish to express their condolences to the families of both men.
