AGM

The 2011 Annual General Meeting of the Friends of the Far North Line will be held at Mackay's Hotel, Union Street, Wick, KW1 5ED on Saturday, 18th June, 2011. The formal meeting will commence at 14.45.

Proceedings prior to the formal AGM will start at 11.45 with tea and coffee, along with a buffet lunch, during which there will be plenty of time for informal chat. There will be no charge for lunch but the society is asking for a voluntary donation of £5, payable on the day, to defray expenses. In order for us to advise the hotel how many to cater for, please complete and return the form at the foot of this page. Lunch will be followed at 13.00 by an introductory address by the society's president, John Thurso, MP, and an update on Far North Line matters by Frank Roach of HITRANS. There will then be a talk by Kenny Scott, Fleet Director, First ScotRail, who will subsequently answer questions from the floor. This part of the proceedings is a public meeting and non-members are welcome to attend and participate. Lunch is also open to those non-members who will be attending the public session.

The AGM has been timed to allow rail travel into Wick at 11.32 (07.06 from Inverness) and returning south at 16.00.

Gavin Sinclair, Secretary.
