2026 marks the tenth anniversary of the publication of David Spaven's wonderful history of the Far North Line - Highland Survivor.

Since Highland Survivor was originally published it has become the 'go to' reference to find out anything of the history of the line, from its construction in sections by several railway companies, through several attempts to close the line, up to the present day.
