Far North Line Train Service Enhancements
We reported in FNE 59 that committee members had met Frank Roach of HITRANS in April to discuss enhancements to the present train services with underused resources but that our proposals fell foul of freight train paths which were used only sporadically or not at all. We carried out further work and identified how the additional services could be run with minimal change to other trains. In fact, only one freight train needed to be moved and we have suggested how this could be done. Thus far, we are still awaiting a response. It's now very late to be able to implement them during the work on Kessock Bridge in early 2014.
