Autumn Steam Festival

HRH, of which FoFNL is a founder member, seeks to develop tourism by steam-hauled trains in the Highlands. The programme this year comprises of three study tours by coach, where practicable, viewing trains operating a series of photographic charters, and travel on three steam-hauled railtours, as follows:

Sat 4 October study tour of the Great Glen.
Sun 5 October study tour of the Balachulish line.
Mon 6 October study tour of the Mallaig line.
Tue 7 October Fort William to Mallaig train, and return - a two-train event.
Wed 8 October Fort William to Oban train, and return.
Thu 9 October Fort William to Oxenholme train, a rare extended run behind steam, returning by service train the following day.

Opportunities for a film evening and/or lecture event are being explored, to enrich the programme for those staying over for two or three days - by far the best way to enjoy the experience.

Please support our enterprise by making these activities widely known, and join us for one or more of these events if you can. You will be very welcome and are sure to have an excellent time.
