Far North Freightliner

The February 2012 issue of Great North Review, the journal of the Great North of Scotland Railway Association, posed the following questions. Can any of our Highland members help?

According to the Review, a freightliner wagon converted to dual braking and with a through steam heat pipe was tried on the 13:55 Aberdeen to Inverness and then onward by the 17:40 to Wick on 7th and 14th September 1983, with a service then running as required on a 2-day return cycle commencing as from Monday 26th March 1984 using the same services. It appears to have been still running in February 1985, but no further references can be found. Does anyone know when it ceased? Has anyone got photos showing the working?
